Ray Mangere: Teacher at KHS 1971 and 1972

I am a Canadian who taught Form 1 to 4 English and French in this school in 1971 and 1972. Mr. Magill was Principal and Mr. Meenahan was his Assistant who became Principal when Mr. Magill retired. Mr. Bill Cameron was my immediate Supervisor, looking after Music, French and Special Ed. I would like to contact him and some of the other people who might remember me including Mr. Boddington, Mr.Ray Fewster and others. One of the friends I had when I lived in Katoomba was Frank Uher whose family made wooden toys the traditional Czhechoslovakian way. As well, I am wondering if anyone in your school would like to begin some sort of sharing of info, like letters with my 26 Intermediate 3 students who were born in 1995 and 1996. They are Inuit and live in Gjoa Haven in Nunavut, Canada about 2000 miles north of Winnipeg, MB. I hope to hear from former students who might remember me as well such as Tony Poulos who was active on the student council, I boarded with Graham and Jamie Johnson's Family in Leura on Leura Parade in Oct-Dec of 1971. I stayed in a guest house near the downtown area about a mile from the school, on the way to the train station for the first three months that I lived in Katoomba. I also lived for awhile in a basement suite belonging to a Principal of a school for Special Needs students. He was actively involved with the Katoomba Lions Club as President. I would welcome any communication from people of all ages in your High School. Some members of the Apex Club, Lions club, Rotoract and Rotary Clubs may remember me as a Guest Speaker. I was the teacher who invited Rev. Ted Noffs from the Wayside Foundation in Sydney to speak to the students. He helped us make and deliver Christmas Hampers with Mr. Meenahan, students and adult volunteers from Sydney and the Blue Mountain area at Christmas of 1971. Thank you for your help in connecting with people from my stay in your country from Feb., 1971 to May of 1973. Sincerely, Ray Manegre
